Veuve Clicquot Rose UK Launch @ The Westminster Penthouse - March 2006

Brief: The UK launch for the long awaited Rose version of this well loved Champagne - 150 trade guests.

Perhaps not surprisingly the theme was a pink one, combining “Romance and Enchantment” with 1950’s elegance and they wanted an unusual venue which the guests would not have been to previously. Something modern with fantastic views and an element of water if at all possible!

Solution: The Westminster Penthouse has it all and on first sight the client fell in love with this ultra sophisticated space with its incredible views of The Houses of Parliament and the fountain on the terrace. The penthouse is perfectly placed to be easily accessible from all areas of Central London.

The space was transformed for the evening, complete with a beautiful pink carpet perfectly matched to the Veuve-Clicquot shade, and flamingos nestling amongst the blossom trees. Guests were treated to an aerial extravaganza from trapeze artists, resplendent in pink tutus whilst a projection of Marilyn Monroe danced on the wall behind, and pink Cadillac’s were on hand to transport guests to and from the party in style!

Sophie Michell of Salt and Pepper designed a bespoke menu in line with the theme; using striking hues of yellow and pink, canapés included Pink roasted Venison salad spoons with Hazelnut and Raspberry dressing, and Pink Pavlovas with Violet crème. These were served by waiting staff adorned with pink wigs and sparkles on their eyes.

The only thing we couldn’t quite manage was to up light the Houses of Parliament in pink for one night only, but believe me we tried!

Guests left clutching posies of pink and yellow tulips, and the evening was a great success, perfectly complementing this fabulous new champagne.
